If you are looking for a waterside restaurant that offers a family friendly environment and a menu full of delicious fresh seafood and a variety of creative entrées, you’ve found the right place.

Welcome to Amos Mosquito’s Restaurant and Bar – or more affectionately known by locals as “Skeeters.” I’m Sandy Howard. My wife, Hallock and I opened Amos Mosquito’s in 1999. From our first location on the Morehead City waterfront to our current location across from the Oceanana Resort on Atlantic Beach, we’ve had one primary goal in mind – to create the most unique, fun, and quality dining experience that can be found in eastern North Carolina. With a seasoned staff of chefs, servers, and hosts who are passionate about making customers happy, we feel the most important part of your experience is already guaranteed.

I invite you to take a look at the menus on our site and check out the photos. We shop only the best ingredients, because we want every bite of the blackened shrimp and andouille quesadilla or the lump crab cake with roasted corn and scallion to be as good as the first sensational mouthful. Our fresh catch and seafood dishes couldn’t get much fresher than if we had thrown a line out back and caught it ourselves…and don’t think we haven’t thought about it.

You love the island feel, and we do, too. Amos Mosquito’s is sound side with a sheltered outdoor patio if you like watching the boats go by and communing with the herons that make the beautiful Intracoastal Waterway their home.

Our bar is fully stocked and is a great place for you to meet friends or check your favorite sports on several large-screen televisions. I’m a golfer, myself, but, I’ve noticed the bar has become a favorite hang-out for the sports fishing crew during the Big Rock Blue Marlin and Atlantic Beach King Mackerel tournaments. On Thursday nights, you can get hand-rolled sushi and end the evening with our popular karaoke night. And, yes, I’ve been known to crank out some “Love Shack,” when the mood hits.

We love interacting with our customers of all ages. The yunguns’ – your “skeeter eaters” will enjoy the sights and sounds of our make-believe swamp décor and the kid’s menu offers plenty of good eats from which to pick. You can even finish dinner with a family marshmallow roast. The staff brings out a table- top hibachi and all the fixings for s’mores. Who doesn’t love that?

I hope I’ve enticed you to roam around our site a bit, and if you have questions, call or e-mail me. If you need to pick up a to-go dinner, you can place your order right here. But I really want you to come see us. Your smile is what we live for… so bring it in.

– Sandy Howard, Owner
